  • Kg through 2nd grade play 8 Games.  These players all receive Participtaion Trophies
  • Playoffs are for all teams in 3rd Grade and Above,  All teams will play a minimum of 2 games in the playoffs.  Teams will play more than 2 games depending on if they win and how many teams are in their division.  Trophies for the playoffs will be champions, Runner-up, 3rd and 4th place.  The number of places (trophy's) given out depend on the number of teams in the division
  • Individuals Registration:  the fee Individuals, that are not on a team, are paying include half court practice.  Individuals may not make any practice requests. Coaches make requests for day, time and location of practices.  Coaches requests are unknown when teams are formed therefore it is not possible to match up individuals with teams based on practices.
  • Returning Team Players should contact their coach before registering.  This will prevent paying the wrong amount or duplicate payments.
  • Individuals Requesting a particular division may only be granted if space is available on a requested division team.  When all existing teams are full or the team fee is paid, then new teams are formed.
  • Refunds may not be given for an individual that did not get a division or practice that they requested..  We cannot guarantee these requests.  We do try to work with the individuals, but there is no guaranteed.  Players often ask to play on a team that comes in full or paid in full and we cannot add to those teams.  We do guarantee to place a player on a team, however we cannot add to teams that are full or are fully paid.
  • A team is full if they have 10 players paid or the team fee is paid in full.
  • All teams 3rd Grade and up make the playoffs.

 COACHES INFORMATION

All coaches must be listed on the team roster and they must have a current coaches application on file.   Head coaches, assistant coaches and team managers must fill out coaches application.  Any adult listed on the team roster must have a current coaches application on file.   Go to psaplano.org; on the right side of the home page click on online forms.  Coaches applications are current until 12-31-11 and must be filled out once a year.

Coaches, please make sure you signed your team up in the correct grade, gender and practice option.  Coaches registering teams chose from, no practice, ½ court practice or full court practice.  Team fees are based on practice selection.  Please see the options available below, to register your team:

  • No Practice Teams:  teams that register for this, do not get a practice assigned by PSA.  Also we do not add players to these teams.  All no practice teams must have the team fee paid in full.  Teams not paid in full will not be put on the game schedule.
  •  ½ Court Practice Teams:  teams that choose this will be given ½ of a basketball court for practice.  Coaches put their requests for day, time and location into our coaches tool and are assigned practices.  We use both of our facilities, PSA1 and PSA2, also Plano School District Schools and Frisco School District Schools, for practice.  Practices are scheduled on Monday through Thursday, at all locations.  Friday is only scheduled at one of the two PSA facilities and no later than 4:30pm, due to games starting at 6pm.  Schools do not allow teams to practice until 6:45 or 7pm.  Normally we use two hours at schools, 6:45 and 7:45 or 7pm and 8pm.  Generally our youngest teams practice at our earliest times.  We start assigning teams at 6pm and the last practices start at 9pm.  Teams that want to practice earlier than 6pm usually get their request no matter what their grade.   PSA does add players to the teams that need extra players.  We fill teams up to 10 only, unless special request by a coach for more.  If teams pay the full team fee we do not add to their teams.  All teams must be paid in full or ask PSA to fill the team in order to be put on the game schedule.  Teams that do not want PSA to add players are responsible for the total team fee.
  •  Full Court Practice Teams:  teams that choose this will be given a full basketball court for practice.  Coaches put their requests for day, time and location into our coaches tool and are assigned practices.  We use both of our facilities, PSA1 and PSA2, also Plano School District Schools and Frisco School District Schools. Players added to a full court practice team pay the individual fee for a ½ court teams, we do not ask them to pay more for a full court.   If teams pay the full team fee we do not add to their teams.  All teams must be paid in full or ask PSA to fill the team in order to be put on the game schedule.  Teams that do not want PSA to add players are responsible for the total team fee.
  • When registration is over, all unpaid players will be removed from teams that we are adding players to, before adding the new players to the team.  No players may be unpaid on a team unless the team fee is paid in full.
  • All teams in 3rd grade and above make the playoffs for winter basketball.  Teams will play a minimum of 2 games during the playoffs.  Some teams will play more than 2 games depending on the number of teams in the division.
