Fencing

Fencing was one of the first sports to be recognized in modern Olympics; it has been described as "chess with muscles," suggesting that complicated strategy lies behind the thrusts and parries that punctuate a duel.  Fencers of today employ a strange combination of archaic and modern customs; combatants still salute before a match and wear the traditional white uniforms and masks, but scoring is now determined by electronic padding worn by the combatants that registers when a hit takes place with flashing, color-coded lights.

PSA offers fencing programs from youth to senior, from recreational to competitive.  PSA fencing programs are specially designed by world-class coaches.  Students are challenged mentally and physically, honing agility, quickness, and subtlety of movement.

PSA fencing coach, Amgad Badawi, four-time Egyptian National Foil Champion, brings to PSA 20 years of fencing experience, 15 years as National Foil Fencer, 7 years as International Foil Fencer, 11 years as a Foil and Epee coach, 10 years as a 3-weapons National Referee and 5 years as a Foil and Epee International Referee.
