Basketball Coaching Staff

 

Dean Christian -Assistant Camp Director and Basketball Camp Coach- The  2013-2014 basketball season was Coach Dean Christian’s first as head men’s basketball coach at Plano Senior High School home of the Wildcats!  The past three years Coach Christian was the head basketball coach at McKinney Boyd High School.  The Boyd basketball program improved all three years under his leadership, which culminated in a 20 win season, and first trip to the state tournament in school history.  Coach Christian is a veteran coach with assistant college coaching stints at Dartmouth College, Southern Methodist University and the Air Force Academy.  Before serving as an assistant at Dartmouth, and SMU, Coach Christian was the Athletic Director and head basketball coach at the USAFA Preparatory School from 2001-04, he enjoyed unparalleled success in three seasons there, his teams had an impressive record of 71-28 (.712), including a 31-3 mark in the 2003-04 school year — the best in U.S. Air Force Academy Prep School history. Nine of his players from the academy were members of the Air Force Academy’s record-setting teams during 2003-07 that reached the NCAA Tournament twice and the NIT semifinals in Madison Square Garden. Coach Christian has had a long and cherished affiliation with the U.S. Air Force. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree from the Air Force Academy in 1982, and then served honorably until 2004 when he retired from military service. In 1994, Christian earned and completed a master’s of arts in athletic administration from the University of Northern Colorado.   Coach Christian is married to his lovely wife Mignon, and they have three children Amber, Christian, and Nathan.

 

Angela Cross -Basketball Camp Coach- I am completing my 15th year in public education: One year as a 2A Varsity head girls’ basketball coach, cross country & track coach. Nine years as a 5A Girls basketball varsity assistant, track & junior varsity softball coach. During my first 2 years of coaching I was at the middle school level coaching basketball, track & soccer. For the last 2 years I have been an elementary PE teacher & giving private basketball lessons to middle school & high school boys & girls. This is my 4th summer to work for PSA. I have been married to my husband for 13 years & we have 2 children.

 

Carl Hale -Basketball, Baseball and Football Camp Coach- I have been an elementary Physical Education teacher in Plano for the past 8 years at Thomas Elementary (5 years) and now Aldridge Elementary (3 years). I am a high school graduate of Cedar Hill High School (2 year letterman in basketball) and a graduate of The University of Texas at Dallas. I have coached club basketball for Texas Bluechips (a high school grassroots AAU program for 2 years), DFW Ironmen and the Rebels that play at PSA for the past 4 years.  This will be my seventh year on staff.

 

Eboni Hammond -Basketball and Volleyball Camp Coach- I'm originally from Waco, Texas, and went to Midway High School. I played basketball and threw discus for Baylor University, and graduated with a BBA in Marketing and a MSEd. in Sport Management. I have been teaching business-related courses and coaching primarily basketball and track for the past 9 years. After relocating from Houston this past year, I currently work at Marcus High School as the Girl's Junior Varsity Basketball Coach and Varsity Throwing Coach for Track and Field. I have a five year-old son. His name is Bralen, and he enjoys anything related to Batman or superheroes! Bralen will be six in August! I also have a miniature poodle named Big Boy, who thinks he's human! They both keep my very busy!!! This is my first year at PSA camp. 

 

Greg McGrath -Basketball Camp Coach- I am currently at Bowman Middle School where I am the ISS teacher, but also teach 6th grade Science and coach 7th grade football and track.  I graduated from the University of North Texas with a Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing.  I’m originally from Shrewsbury, Massachusetts.  I grew up playing basketball, baseball, football, and soccer.  I truly enjoy helping students find success, whether that be in the classroom or on a field or court.  This will be my first year on staff.

 

Darrell Neal -Basketball Camp Coach- I graduated from Norfolk State University where I played basketball for 4 years.  I was recognized numerous times as an All American and nationally in rebounds per game.  I am currently working at Corbell Elementary School in the P.E. Department.  I also coach and train boys & girls basketball teams in grades K-12.  My wife Dee is a nurse for San Remo Nursing Home.  I have three kids (Darielle – 10), (D.J.  -6) and (Darrien – 4).  This will be my second year on staff.

 

Mark Reynolds -Basketball Camp Coach- I have been married to my wife, Rachel, for twenty-two years.  We have two children, Rebekah and Sarah, both of whom play basketball.  We also have three dogs and a pet hedgehog.  I have coached basketball for twenty-six years. Prior to my current position as the Head Boys Basketball Coach at Jasper HS, I was the Varsity Boys Basketball Coach at El Paso High School for thirteen years.  During my tenure in El Paso, as well as additional coaching experience in Arizona, I have had the fortune of coaching teams in the State Semi Finals, two Sweet Sixteens, three Regional Championships, and several District Championships. I am excited to begin my first year at PSA where I hope the kids will have a great time while improving their skills. 

 

Ryan Salinas -Basketball Camp Coach- I am a teacher and a football/basketball coach at Wilson Middle School. I attended SFA where I played golf and majored in communications. I have a passion for sports and helping kids develop the fundamental skills needed to develop into accomplished athletes.

 

Keith Smith -Basketball Camp Coach- I am the Head Girl's Basketball Coach at Adamson High School in Dallas, TX. I have been the head coach at Adamson for eight years.  The teams record this year was 11-12.  During my tenure the team has developed into a competitive program. Also, I have coached freshmen boys at Hillcrest High School and JV boys at Sunset High School. I attended Creighton University on a basketball scholarship and graduated with a B.A. in Political Science. This will be my seventh year on staff.

 

Marcus Wood -Basketball Camp Coach- Coach Marcus is a native of the Chicago land area. After a stellar high school career, Coach Marcus attended Tennessee State University where he played shooting and point guard for the Tigers. During his playing time at TSU, coach Marcus helped the tigers to 2 consecutive Ohio Valley Conference titles propelling them into 2 NCAA Tournament appearances. After graduating, Coach Marcus played 2 seasons in the Continental Basketball Association (CBA) for the Rockford Lightning. After completion of his 2nd season with the Lightning, Coach Marcus obtained invitations to NBA free agent camps from the Charlotte Hornets and Chicago Bulls. Coach Marcus has coached 2 seasons with the Dallas Hoyas select Basketball program, 2 seasons as Plano Wolves select Basketball assistant coach, and is a contracted coach for Plano Sports Authority's (PSA) basketball programs. This will be my 3rd year on staff. Coach Marcus owns and operates Divine Scouting LLC, a company that helps High School Athletes gain exposure to colleges and universities and offering private basketball skill and drill lessons. Coach Marcus earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Communications from Tennessee State University and a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Phoenix.

 

Baseball and Softball Camp Staff

T.J. Martin -Flexi Camp Director at PSA Murphy and Baseball Camp Coach- I attended and graduated from the University of Texas at Tyler, where I am majoried in Business Management. I have played college baseball for the Patriots all four years of my college career, where I became 1st team all conference my junior and senior year, as well as a Rawlings Gold Glove recipient. At UT Tyler, I am a part of the FCA (Fellowship of Christian Athletes). This will be my 5th year at PSA.

 

Leo McDaniel -Basketball/Baseball/Football Camp Coach and Flexi Supervisor- My name is Leo McDaniel and I presently an 8th grade football, basketball, and track coach at Robinson Middle School in Plano ISD. I am finishing my 7th year at Robinson. This is my 8th year teaching. I started my career at North Mesquite High School where I was the Freshman football coach and Varsity baseball pitching coach/assistant and Junior Varsity Head Baseball coach. I graduated from the University of Texas-San Antonio with a degree in Kinesiology and Education.  I am presently certified to teach health and physical education. At the present time I am pursing my certification in mathematics and science, as well as my master’s in administration. My wife, Natalie, and I have on child, Parker who is in Frisco ISD. My wife and I also own a restaurant in Plano called Ziziki’s.

Cheerleading Camp Staff

Denise de la Rosa -Dance/Cheerleading Camp Coach- I am currently employed with PSA and my duties include various daytime activities, Mother’s Day Out, and Preschool Sports Academy.  I have been the Dance Team director of the PSA Starettes Dance Team since 2004. Our 3 teams range from girls in Kinder through 8th grade. They perform at various basketball games at PSA during the winter season.  I hold lots of experience in Cheer and Dance through NCA /NDA training. My love for teaching cheer/dance doesn’t stop there during my free time you can find me teaching various classes such as Hip-Hop, Jazz, Ballet, and Cheerleading with the City of Plano Parks and Rec. or Sheena’s Dance Academy in Frisco. I am a mother of 3 wonderful kids whom all have grown up in various sports at PSA. Jazzlyn my oldest is in her 3rd and final year with the Allen High Tallenettes, Michael, Jr. is our football athlete with the Allen Wild Dawgz and looks forward to playing his upcoming freshman year, and A’ja my youngest plays basketball with her PSA Superstars basketball team. I’ve got some great Cheerleading and Dance Camps prepared for you this summer and can’t wait to get started. 

 

Madeline G -Flexi Camp Counselor and Cheerleading Camp Coach- I will be attending the University of Oklahoma next year as a freshman. I graduated from Plano West Senior High School. I was a cheerleader for five years, including being a varsity cheerleader at Plano West. I participated in National Charity League for 6 years and was in Student Congress at school. This will be my second year on staff.

 

Football Camp Staff

Dusty Baker -Basketball and Football Camp Coach- I am the 8th grade football and basketball coach at Douglass Otto Middle School in Plano I.S.D. I also teach 7th grade Texas History. I have been working at Otto since it opened in 2010. I am proudly from Sulphur, Oklahoma and I graduated from Oklahoma State University with a degree in Wildlife Conservation Management. In high school I played football, basketball and ran track. While attending Oklahoma State, I worked as a student manager on the football team.

 
 

Jayson Boyd -Football Camp Coach- I am currently finishing my first year at Armstrong Middle School where I teach history and coach football and track.  I have been in education for 11 years and have coached football, basketball, track, tennis, volleyball and soccer on the middle and high school levels.  I played college football at Harding University and Abilene Christian University.  My wife, Elvira, and I have two children, Cody and Taylor.  Cody will be entering college this fall and playing football at Harding.  This will be my first year on staff.

 

Kelly Foster –Basketball and Football Camp Coach- I am currently one of the coaches at Douglas Otto Middle School.  I am from a small town near Abilene Texas.  I attended undergraduate at Howard Payne University and graduate school at Gardner-Webb University.  This will be my first year on staff.

 

Soccer Camp Staff

Stacy Price -Soccer Camp Director, Volleyball Coach and Flexi Camp Supervisor- I graduated from Texas A&M University-Commerce with a Bachelor's of Business Administration in Management Information Systems and a Masters of Business Administration.  I was a member of the Lady Lion Soccer team, where we were Lone Star Conference Champions and Advanced to the Elite Eight in the NCAA Tournament.  I am currently the Varsity Soccer Coach at Garland High School, and have been coaching the successful program for the past 8 years.   I am a mother of two beautiful daughters Emma and Abby Price.  This will be my second year on staff.

 

Alyssa Resmini  -Flexi Camp Counselor and Soccer Camp Coach- I attended McKinney North High School for four years - I played soccer there all four years - 3 on varsity. I was an all district player the 3 years on varsity. I graduated from Freed-Hardeman University in Henderson, TN with a major in Art and a minor in Spanish. I also played collegiate soccer for the Lady Lions as a starting defender all 4 years and received both academic and athletic scholarships. I spent 6 weeks in Nicaragua last summer interning at the Nicaragua Christian School that gives impoverished children a chance for a quality education and enjoyed the opportunity to use my Spanish and love for children to make an impact on their lives.  This will be my seventh year on staff.


Lukas T -Flexi Camp Counselor and Soccer Camp Coach- I am a sophomore at The University of Texas at Dallas, studying Engineering and playing soccer as a collegiate athlete. After playing club soccer at a Division 1 club level for 10 years, I have continued my playing at UTD and on an under 20 USL national team. Soccer is my passion, and staying active is my lifestyle. This will be my second year happily working at PSA.

 

Natalie Wilson -Soccer Camp Coach- I am a graduate of East Central University with my degree in elementary education. I am currently working on my master's in Sports Administration from East Central University. I was a four-year starting member of the Lady Tiger soccer team acquiring conference honors in soccer as well as academics. I was Dean's honor roll all four years of graduate work at ECU.  I work with the Texas thunder soccer club. I have had five years of soccer coaching experience in the Dallas area as well as coaching with the Ada, Oklahoma boys and girls club. This is my fifth summer at PSA working with the soccer camps. 

Volleyball Camp Staff

Courtney Craven -Volleyball Camp Coach- I am currently the 8th grade volleyball coach at Rice Middle School in Plano I.S.D. This fall will be my 8th year teaching and coaching at Rice. I am originally from Plano, where I attended and played volleyball at Plano East Senior High, then I went onto Texas Tech University and majored in Health, Exercise & Sports Science. I have coached club volleyball for several years here in the metroplex, as well as worked, and directed, various volleyball camps every summer.  This will be my first summer on staff.

 

Kenya Evans -Volleyball and Basketball Camp Coach- I work at Robinson Middle School, I have worked there for 7 years. I coach Basketball and Track. I am born and raised in Plano, Texas. I graduated from Plano Sr. High Class of '94 and college from TAMU-Commerce. My husband Kareem and I have two amazing children Chandler and Carter. This is my third year on staff.

 

Shanda Hairston -Volleyball and Basketball Camp Coach- I work at Frankford Middle school and graduated from Baylor University in my hometown Waco Texas. I have 3 girls-Shalyn 19, Destiny 7, and Brijae 2. I also reside with two poodles -Chloe and Baylor and a miniature Doberman pincher -Reeses! I have coached volleyball and basketball for over 15 years and have coached track for 3 years. This is my third year on staff.

 

Skylah Hoffman -Volleyball Camp Coach- I am in my 7th year of coaching/teaching. I currently coach 7th grade volleyball and 8th grade basketball for Plano ISD. I value teaching the basic fundamentals that are needed to be successful in sports. I am very passionate about working with our youth, and I look forward to the opportunity of teaching them skills that will prepare them for success later on in their athletic careers.

Judy Roos -Volleyball Camp Coach- This is my third year to coach volleyball camps and prep league at PSA. I love volleyball and enjoy teaching the fundamentals of the game.  I have been a high school volleyball coach in the DFW metroplex for 22 years.  Fourteen of those years as a head coach in Gunter, Pilot Point and Celina.  In that time my teams have made 11 trips to the post season.  I am currently co head coaching volleyball in Celina.  Personally I have been married 23 years with four children.  Kylie 22 just graduated from Northwestern State University in Natchitoches Louisiana where she played 4 years of Division I softball and is currently a coach at PSA.  Jordan 19 attends Purdue University where he is on the football and track teams.  Twins Lexie and Laney are 11 and play select softball for Texas Rapid Fire.

 

Kylie Roos -Volleyball Camp Coach- I just graduated from Northwestern State University with a degree in Industrial Engineering. I played 4 years of division 1 softball and was MVP of the 2013 Southland Conference tournament. I graduated from Celina High School in 2009 and played 4 years of varsity softball and volleyball. This is my 3rd summer at PSA.

 

Jenna Sprague -Volleyball Camp Coach- I am currently the head basketball coach at Hendrick Middle School. I previously held the assistant Varsity basketball coach position at Oklahoma Centennial High School in Oklahoma City. I helped lead our girls to the area semi-finals. I graduated from Southwestern Oklahoma State University where I played Basketball on a full ride scholarship for all four years with a degree in education. I graduated from Plano Senior High School where I played both basketball and volleyball at the Varsity level. I am the youngest of three children and have two brothers, Justin and Michael. My parents, Lynn and Gary Sprague currently reside in Wylie, Texas. This will be my first year on staff.
