PLANO, Texas, March 24, 2011 – Plano Sports Authority, a nationally recognized leader in the youth sports industry, has announced plans to reconfigure PSA StarCenter athletic facility to match the rapid growth of Arena Sports.

In an announcement made earlier this month, PSA and Dallas Stars reached a definitive agreement to close the ice rink at their PSA StarCenter facility.  With this proposal, PSA will facilitate plans to expand their Indoor Arena program including indoor soccer, flag football, rugby and skills classes.  Included in the renovations will be the addition of a professional size indoor turf arena and the removal of the existing balcony wall, creating an open space between the court area and the indoor turf.

Teresa Federspiel, Senior Director of Sports, said, “the reconfiguration of our facility will be a great asset to our customers, the youth of Plano and surrounding communities.  It represents a significant commitment to increase our facilities to match our existing growth in arena sports, and our service to the kids of Plano and surrounding areas.”

Renovations are expected to begin mid-April with the arena open for play in early June.
