SPRING PITCHING CLINIC INFORMATION: A NOTE FROM THE SOFTBALL DIRECTOR, KARL KOCH
PSA is offering pitching clinics to all of the players in grades 3 through 12 who are registered in the Spring league. The fee is $5 per player for a one hour session. Theresa Ross will run the clinics, and she does a great job with the kids. The clinic is designed for kids with little to no pitching experience, and teaches the basics of fast-pitch pitching. If you have a player who is taking private pitching lessons, she may not get much out of it, but it's a good start for kids and coaches who have no experience with fast-pitch. Coaches are welcome and encouraged to come out and observe.
- Each pitcher that comes to a clinic MUST provide her own ADULT catcher. It can be a parent, coach, or older sibling. Coaches, PLEASE reinforce this to your parents. We don't want to send any kids home because they don't have a catcher.
- The pitchers CANNOT catch for each other because they all pitch at the same time.
The next session will be held on Saturday April 14 at Schell Park on Field 2. We will have sessions at 9:00 am, 10:00 am, 11:00 am, and 12 noon. Click on "Field Maps" above for a link to the Schell Park location.
We can take 8 kids for each session, and the sessions start precisely on the hour. There will be space for you to warm-up before your session.
You cannot just show up at any of the time slots. You MUST register in your MySAM account or by calling PSA directly, (972) 208-5437.
You are not required to send any players, but I would highly recommend it, especially for kids in the 3rd/4th MKP league who are pitching for the first time. The older kids are welcome too. Any player registered in a league between 3rd and 12th grade is eligible.
We want to get as many kids into a session that we can, so for now, we will limit it to one session per player.
