Welcome!
We are currently accepting energetic, dependable individuals who are interested in becoming PSA umpires. Perhaps you are a returning umpire or perhaps you are new to umpiring. Whatever the case, we hope you will consider training with PSA.
New guidelines dictate that all PSA sports officials must be 14 years old or older. If you have questions regarding this policy, please contact mmcmillen@psaplano.org in the PSA business office.
Leagues are available from Kindergarten through High School.
Mandatory Training – New and Returning umpires must attend at least one Classroom training session, and at least one Field training session.
Classroom sessions will be held in the large conference room on the second floor of PSA from 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM on the following dates:
Thursday March 22
Tuesday April 24
Cost of training: $25.00 cash or check made payable to Sid Engeran at start of session.
Field Training will be held at Heritage Yards Park in Plano. This will include instruction and working live games in the preseason tournament on the following dates:
Sat/Sun March 24-25: This will include the preseason tournaments for kid-pitch leagues from 5th grade and up.
Sat/Sun April 28-29: This will include the preseason tournament for coach-pitch and modified-kid-pitch leagues from 2nd through 4th grade.
Mandatory Equipment:
All umpires are required to have a clicker and plate brush and wear the PSA powder blue polo umpire shirt and navy blue cap. MKP and above umpires must also wear a mask to work behind the plate.
