Ground Breaking

On Tuesday, December 18th, Plano Sports Authority held a groundbreaking ceremony for an 85,000 square foot athletic facility in Murphy Central Park. The new facility, to be named, "PSA Murphy," will contain 8 basketball/volleyball wood floor courts, an indoor soccer/flag football arena, concessions, and meeting rooms. The cost of the facility at 310 North Murphy Road will be borne by PSA, with the help of their long term bank, Legacy Texas Bank. The building will be constructed on land leased from the City of Murphy. The facility will allow Murphy and surrounding area residents who currently drive to PSA1 and PSA2 in Plano, to practice and play locally. PSA plans to offer basketball, volleyball, indoor soccer, flag football, futsal, martial arts, and full day summer, winter break, and spring break camps at the facility, plus other sports. Currently, over 75,000 children play sports in PSA. With the new Murphy Central Park project and the new PSA Murphy building in the park, Murphy Central Park will be a destination site for the area.
