ELITE BASKETBALL PROGRAM 4TH-6TH GRADE BOYS AND GIRLS

SCHOOL TRY OUT PREP PROGRAM 7TH-10TH GRADE BOYS AND GIRLS

These programs are designed for 4th-10th grade boys and girls who want to start preparing early for their chances of making their middle or high school teams. In these classes your athlete will be drilled on the fundamentals during a weeknight session that will get them ready for the more advanced techniques needed for school.  We will show these skills in a variety of drills that will be very similar to what they will see at their school. All coaches do things a little different as far as the drills they use but the skills and concepts are all the same. They will be given key tips on what can impress a coach in a mass tryout that will help them stand out.

The Saturday sessions will be run like a real school 2-hour practice. The practices will provide them the ability to understand concepts and designs of basketball plays both offensively, defensively and pressing situations. Just being able to run these drills and plays will give them a leg up on the competition. This program is not for beginners and only serious players should enroll in this class. Along with drills and skills, your child should expect to be able to handle rigorous conditioning associated with basketball tryouts. There also will be times where the coaches will push the kids harder than they are used to as this is what they should expect at tryouts. Realize your child will have to compete against upwards of 60-100 kids trying out for 2 to 3 teams of 10 kids most likely.  It is getting harder and harder to make school teams.

PROGRAM OVERVIEW:

This program will be about skills, drills, team concepts and actual team plays. The class will start on Saturday, March 21st and will end Tuesday, May 19th.  You will get to select a one-hour class on a Monday or Tuesday night (at PSA 2) that will be your class every week.  Your choices will be from the following; Monday nights at 5:00, 6:00 or 7:00 pm OR on Tuesday nights at 5:00, 6:00 or 7:00 pm.  Then everyone from all six of the weeknight classes comes in for 2 hours on Saturday (at PSA 1) from 8:45 am-10:45 am.  Here is what your choices will look like:

Tuesday 7:008:00pm and Saturday 8:45 am-10:45 am

Space is limited in the Spring as we can only take 80 kids.  We cannot take a waiting list based on our court availability so get in early. We separate the grades when possible, but we do not restrict who can sign up. We will also look to place kids on courts where their skills will have a chance to improve so we don’t just look at age or gender. Weeknight classes will only be drills and conditioning, so it does not matter which time slot you select.
