What is Core Volleyball?
Core Volleyball is a great way to build skills and have some fun! Open to girls and boys in 1st through 6th grade, PSA’s Core Volleyball League is ideal for players who are new to the sport or are still working on fine-tuning their skills.
What is Competitive Volleyball?
Ready for the next level? Our Competitive Volleyball League is open to boys and girls in 5th through 12th grade. Playing in this league is ideal for teams who have played together before or for players that have mastered the basics.
What’s the difference between Core and Competitive Volleyball?
Both leagues are designed to benefit the player at their specific level of development. Core Volleyball is played with different rules from Competitive Volleyball. For example, Core Volleyball allows one “re-serve” each time a player rotates into the service position, and substitutions are automatic, guaranteeing playing time for all present players. This style of play ensures that all players are given the opportunity to grow and love the game.
In Competitive Volleyball, the game is played using rules similar to what players will see at the middle school and high school level. Our Competitive Volleyball League can be used as preparation for school volleyball, or as an alternative to playing on a school team.
