PSA Track - 2024
Important Dates
1. Parents information meeting - May 20 - at the track during practice
2. First track practice at John Paul II HS 900 Coit Rd Plano - May 13
3. Track Meet Schedule wil be posted on Meet Schedules tab as soon as possible
4. Regional Track Meet - TBD (Top Finishers Qualify for the State Meet)
Equipment Needs
1. Running shoes (most important part of training)
2. Water jug (mandatory)
3. Running flats or Spikes (optional). You can find these at RunOn, Academy, Luke’s Locker,
a. Online at Eastbay or other running shoe sites
b. Team Uniform-Only for those who plan on running in the meets. You must purchase the uniform from PSA store!
Meet Procedures
1. Arrive 50 min before your race start-Rolling schedule (means the races run one after another-It is not on a timed schedule.
2. Gate fee will be charged at the meet usually $5.00-$10.00.
3. We will allow the athletes to participate in most events they want to try-we do limit the number of the events depending on the length and the athletes training level
5. Parents are not allowed on the track:
a. Coaches will walk the younger athlete’s together to get heated up for there event at the start of the season.
b. At the Regional and State Meet the coaches and parents are not allowed on the field.
c. Heat sites are usually near to the start line under the tent.
d. Make sure that you bring (sunscreen-liquids-snack-lunch-blankets-chairs) depending on what events and how many they participate in could make for a long day at the meet.
Practice (Typical)
Monday, Tuesday and Thursday
Ages (11 & under) 5:45pm to 6:45pm
Ages (12-18) 6:45pm to 7:45pm
3 days/ practice enables athletes to build muscle memory, maintain stronger base phase
